The Rural Municipality of Old Post No. 43 (2016 population: 377) is a rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within Census Division No. 3 and SARM Division No. 2. It is located in the southern portion of the province adjacent to the United States border, neighbouring Valley County and Daniels County in Montana. The RM of Old Post No. 43 incorporated as a rural municipality on January 1, 1967.[2] There is one heritage building located within the RM. The following urban municipalities are surrounded by the RM. The following unincorporated communities are within the RM. In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the RM of Old Post No. 43 had a population of 352 living in 128 of its 157 total private dwellings, a change of -6.6% from its 2016 population of 377. With a land area of 1,757.5 km2 (678.6 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.2/km2 (0.5/sq mi) in 2021.[8] In the 2016 Census of Population, the RM of Old Post No. 43 recorded a population of 377 living in 151 of its 171 total private dwellings, a -4.6% change from its 2011 population of 395. With a land area of 1,757 km2 (678 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.2/km2 (0.6/sq mi) in 2016.[4] The RM of Old Post No. 43 is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator that meets on the second Thursday of every month.[3] The reeve position is vacant while the RM’s administrator is Vickie Greffard.[3] The RM’s office is located in Wood Mountain.[3] The RM is a part owner of the Fife Lake Railway.[15] Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rural_Municipality_of_Old_Post_No._43
