Leross incorporated as a village on December 1, 1909.[5] In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Leross had a population of 40 living in 14 of its 16 total private dwellings, a change of -13% from its 2016 population of 46. With a land area of 1.28 km2 (0.49 sq mi), it had a population density of 31.3/km2 (80.9/sq mi) in 2021.[8] In the 2016 Census of Population, the Village of Leross recorded a population of 46 living in 22 of its 26 total private dwellings, a 19.6% change from its 2011 population of 37.
